As part of his master's thesis at Landshut University of Applied Sciences under Prof Dr Hubertus Tuczek and his work at m.partners GmbH, Lucas Brunner investigated the success factors of digital business models and developed an evaluation tool for this purpose. The tool is based on the Landshut benefit model and the building blocks of the business model canvas. These were supplemented by criteria that reinforce the differentiation of the business models. Both the building blocks and the criteria were weighted differently in order to assign greater relevance to key attributes. From now on, m.partners will use the tool to compare business models with each other and to identify strengths and weaknesses. This allows an assessment to be made of the current degree of development of the business model and its prospects for success. With effect from 31 January 2020, Maffei & Co. sold its entire stake in Transforce Partners GmbH to its co-shareholders. In return, Maffei & Co. will acquire from Transforce Partners GmbH the remaining 50% of m.partners GmbH that it does not yet own, thereby becoming the sole shareholder. This shift will enable Maffei & Co. to better dovetail its management consultancy m.partners GmbH, with its extensive expertise and renowned senior advisors, with Maffei & Co.'s investments. M&A support for Maffei transactions will in future be provided by Maffei & Co. internally. www.m.partners

With effect from 28 January 2020, Communicatio AG, a Maffei & Co. company, is selling its majority stake in the Berlin-based IT service provider ikusei GmbH. The stake was acquired in mid-2017. The initial situation was that ikusei GmbH was too small a market player despite its good market position in Ruby programming. With the support of Maffei & Co., a complementary Berlin-based IT company was acquired in June 2019 and merged with ikusei GmbH. The restructured and reorganised company was sold back to the existing shareholders in January 2020. On 6 December 2019, m.partners GmbH and Communicatio AG, both Maffei & Co. companies, acquired a majority stake in Park Your Truck GmbH, Dessau-Roßlau, the leading brokerage platform for truck parking spaces, as part of a capital increase. The performance pact consists not only of the provision of additional liquidity, but also of management and technology services: The management consultancy m.partners GmbH is supporting the rapid growth of Park Your Truck, as is Communicatio AG, which will be responsible for the development and operation of a highly secure and scalable technical platform. The involvement of Maffei & Co. has also created the conditions for funding from the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The previous shareholders, a Munich-based family office and another entrepreneur in addition to the founder, will remain on board and provide support with their network. About Park Your Truck (PYT) PYT is developing a platform economy for the procurement of truck parking spaces in order to address the unspeakable conditions on motorways and in industrial estates in many municipalities and cities caused by wildly parked trucks.
